Hugh Hefner's son Marston launches X-rated adult content platform

The son of late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is following in his father’s footsteps by launching his own adult content platform.

Marston Hefner, 34, is challenging the established platforms of OnlyFans and Playboy by introducing his own website called RM11. This new platform is designed to offer content creators a significantly larger share of the revenue generated compared to its competitors.

Inspired by the allure of a night in a luxury hotel, RM11 turns its models into ‘hosts’ while subscribers are ‘guests’ who are invited into virtual ‘rooms’ for intimate one-on-one digital experiences.

Unlike Playboy’s racy app, which only allows nudity but no sex, RM11 is completely unrestricted so that creators can post pornographic content.

Hefner, who already has his own account on OnlyFans, told DailyMail.com that RM11 also allows for full freedom of speech – which is something that many rival platforms don’t offer.

‘OnlyFans restricts freedom of speech in the sense that they are restricted because they’re on the App Store. There are certain words that you can’t say,’ he explained.

‘There are content limitations, but we don’t have those restrictions on our platform, so the creator is free to create. It could be art, it could be whatever somebody wants to do. It could be their diary, it could be their exercise routine,’ he continued.

Hefner said that his late father Hugh, who was a strong advocate of the First Amendment, inspired RM11’s liberal approach to its content, as well as its 90/10 commission split – said to be the highest in the industry.

‘Playboy paid their artists better than anyone,’ said Hefner.

‘And RM11 has the values needed to reflect what it means to be an adult content creator, which is believing in nudity, believing in sexuality, embracing those fundamental concepts that I believe in,’ he continued.

‘I would not have signed on to a company that didn’t believe in free speech, freedom to create, freedom for nudity, freedom for sex, and to commodify that stuff is up to each individual. It shouldn’t be a big deal.’

Hefner also said that his own experience working as a creator on platforms like OnlyFans attracted him to come on board as RM11’s Chief Strategy Officer.

‘I’m an adult content creator and I’m pretty good at it,’ boasted Hefner, who is already in the process of trying to bring some big celebrity names over to RM11.

‘I would not have my career and my success without my wife’s support,’ he said when asked what his significant other Anna thinks of his X-rated career.

Coincidentally, Hefner’s raunchy entrepreneurial move coincides with Playboy relaunching its print magazine after five years.

The iconic publication just hit newsstands with beauty influencer Lori Harvey on the cover, while model Gillian Nation was named the 2025 Playmate of the Year.

When quizzed about the magazine’s comeback, Hefner said that platforms like RM11 represent the ‘future’ of adult entertainment.

‘I think the future of the adult content industry, and this isn’t taking anything away from Playboy, but it’s putting it into the hands of creators to create what they want,’ he said.

‘There’s no middleman between a creator’s vision and what they’re making.’

Hefner, who is openly bisexual, joined OnlyFans back in 2023, earning around $30,000 in his first six months on the site.

He previously worked as a writer, publishing his first novel High School Romance in 2022.

Hefner is one of late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s four children.

His sister Christie and younger brother Cooper both previously worked for Playboy, while older brother David has lived his life outside of the spotlight and away from the Playboy brand.

Last year, Cooper attempted to purchase Playboy for $100million.

In a statement announcing the bid, the 33-year-old described the brand’s sentimental value as he described his vision of ‘reimagining’ Playboy’s future while remaining ‘true to its heritage.’

‘Today, I submitted an offer on behalf of Hefner Capital for $100 million to acquire Playboy Enterprises – a company and brand that is part of my legacy. I know how meaningful Playboy is to people worldwide, including my family,’ he wrote.

‘The investment is about rescuing an iconic brand while honoring the values it has championed for over 70 years; freedom of expression, creativity, and thoughtful storytelling.

‘My aim is to reimagine Playboy’s future while staying true to its heritage. While the brand is owned by PLBY Group Inc., we look forward to working with the Board and stakeholders to find a pathway that benefits everyone involved.’

The $100 million offer was all-cash, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sadly, the offer was rejected.

‘After careful review and consideration of Hefner’s unsolicited proposal, our board determined that the proposal substantially undervalues the Playboy assets and is not in the best interest of PLBY Group’s stockholders,’ said Ben Kohn, CEO and a director of PLBY Group, in a statement .

Playboy was founded by Hugh and his associates in Chicago in 1953 and developed into one of the world’s best known brands, famous for its nude and semi-nude models.

Along with that came the iconic Playboy Bunnies and Hugh’s legendary home, the Playboy Mansion.

Hugh also served as editor-in-chief of the publication. He passed at age 91 in 2017 as a result of heart failure and septicemia after contracting a deadly strain of e-coli. He left a reported $43 million fortune.
