Plastic surgeons weigh in on Martha Stewart's youthful visage

Martha Stewart, the iconic domestic guru, is celebrated for her remarkably youthful and radiant appearance. Recently, a plastic surgeon has offered insights into the possible beauty routines behind her ageless look, despite Stewart’s own claims of avoiding surgical enhancements.

In recent years, the 84-year-old has earned the title of ‘Queen of Thirst Traps,’ thanks to her frequent sharing of alluring photos on Instagram.

One standout moment was in 2020 when Martha posted a viral photo of herself relaxing in her East Hampton pool, wearing a one-piece swimsuit and matching frosty pink lipstick. The image garnered millions of likes, capturing widespread attention on social media.

Her captivating presence further propelled her into the spotlight, earning her a spot on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2023. There, she posed in a daringly low-cut white swimsuit.

This achievement marked her as the oldest woman ever to grace the prestigious cover of the magazine.

While Martha has insisted in past interviews that she has never undergone plastic surgery, she has confessed to getting other cosmetic injections, like Botox and filler.

And according to Minnesota-based plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Harrington, who has not treated the star, it looks like Martha is telling the truth after looking at pictures of the mogul throughout the years.

‘Martha Stewart is timeless and oh-so classy. Her look is not only youthful, but healthy and energized!’ Dr. Harrington, who owns practice Harrington + Associates, told Daily Mail exclusively.

Most notably, the snap she posted in 2020 of herself lounging in her East Hampton pool wearing a one-piece bathing suit and frosty pink lipstick to match, went totally viral with millions of 'likes' on the social media app

‘I must stress that I have not treated her personally, but I think she has had some cosmetic enhancements to achieve this lovely appearance,’ she shared.

Dr. Harrington believes that Martha may have gotten neuromodulators, like Botox, as she has said before, as well as laser treatments.

‘Her skin looks amazing in both texture and tone. Perhaps some neuromodulators are used to smooth our wrinkles, and a broadband light laser treatment (BBL) to even out the skin tones and eliminate brown and red pigments from UV sun damage,’ Dr. Harrington told Daily Mail.

‘The fullness in her cheeks could be dermal fillers, but fat transfer (removing fat in a body area where it is not wanted and injecting it into another area for more volume) is gaining popularity, and this could be what we see here,’ she said.

‘Lastly, skincare. Good, quality pharmaceutical-grade skincare is definitely in play here. Do it every day!’ she offered.

Daily Mail reached out to Martha’s reps for comment.

During a February 2024 episode of her podcast on iHeart, The Martha Stewart Podcast, Martha broke down all of the cosmetic treatments that she’s had done in the past, as she interviewed her personal dermatologist, Dr. Dan Belkin.

Dr. Belkin explained during the interview that he had injected Botox in Martha’s face before, but she was not a fan of it – at least, not on her forehead area.

‘Oh, I don’t like that at all. My eyebrows kind of go up in a V and that looks so unnatural because I don’t have lines in my forehead,’ Martha said during the podcast.

However, she feels a bit different about the results of Botox on her lower face area.

‘I’ve tried to give you a little lift. It hasn’t really worked that well on the upper face, but I think neuromodulators like Botox have worked really well for you on the lower face,’ Dr. Belkin said.

He also revealed that he’s injected some ‘conservative’ facial filler into the 84-year-old, specifically using biostimulatory filler, which promotes your skin to make more collagen on its own.

One example of a biostimulatory filler is Sculptra, a popular injectable that many celebrities have gotten, including Khloé Kardashian.

Dr. Belkin shared that Martha had also undergone skin tightening procedures using ultrasound technology.

Of course, there are also lifestyle factors that go into Martha’s good looks.

Every morning, Martha starts off her day by drinking a green juice made with produce from her garden, according to her magazine, Martha Stewart.

'Oh, I don¿t like that at all. My eyebrows kind of go up in a V and that looks so unnatural because I don¿t have lines in my forehead,' Martha said during the podcast about Botox, as she's seen here in 2025

‘One of my favorite combinations is spinach, cucumber, parsley, chervil, fresh ginger, and orange peel,’ she shared at the time.

She also drinks a large glass of water at 5 a.m., and then more lemon water throughout the day.

In addition to her green juice, Martha will also do some form of exercise every morning.

Skincare is important to her, too, as she always uses moisturizer on her body and face, as well as an exfoliant or silicone soap, she told the outlet.

Getting good sleep is also a major factor for her youthful looks.

‘Just as with other body organs, the skin repairs itself during sleep. And lack of sleep will show up immediately on your face, with dark circles, bags under your eyes, and dull skin. Seven to eight uninterrupted hours are optimal,’ she said.
