2 killed, 5 injured after mass shooting on Indy's NW side

INDIANAPOLIS – An investigation is underway after at least two people killed and five others were injured in a shooting on Indy’s northwest side Sunday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 2 a.m., officers responded to the 6800 block of Shore Terrace on the report of shots fired.

IMPD said a total of six males and one female were shot in the incident. The two individuals who were shot and killed were adult males, police said.

Investigators say officers found five victims shot at the scene, three of those individuals were transported to area hospital in critical condition. The other two adult males were pronounced deceased on scene, according to police.

IMPD said one victim arrived at an area hospital, while a seventh victim went to a local fire department for assistance. They were listed in “serious, but stable condition,” police said.

Investigators say the shooting happened outside in a parking lot. At least one person of interest was detained.
