COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, Ill. – On Tuesday evening, a police-involved shooting in the southwest suburbs prompted a response from Chicago’s Civilian Office of Police Accountability along with various law enforcement agencies.
According to witnesses, who chose to remain off-camera, multiple gunshots echoed through a neighborhood in Country Club Hills, as reported by ABC7.

Observers noted that a person wearing a ski mask was seen fleeing through the area, which was soon swarmed by law enforcement officers.
Authorities from the ATF, the FBI, and the Country Club Hills police were on the scene, joined by police departments from neighboring areas such as Hazel Crest, Flossmoor, Midlothian, and Chicago.
ABC7 reported the presence of several crime scenes, with the most significant located on Loretto Lane near 189th Street. Investigators were seen focusing on a white vehicle, though its connection to the incident remains unclear.
A couple of blocks away, ABC7 saw more investigators at Martin Lane and Martin Court. Those investigators focused on a black Mitsubishi.
COPA said a Chicago police officer was involved, but did not elaborate.
ABC7 reached out to Chicago police and they referred us to ATF, who is handling the investigation. The ATF said the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities did not immediately say whether anyone was injured.
What led up to the shooting was not immediately clear.
