(WHTM) – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed on Monday that Chrysler is initiating a recall affecting over 450,000 of its vehicles across various models.
The recall involves specific models, including the 2024-2026 Jeep Wagoneer S, the 2025-2026 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500 Pickups, as well as the Ram 3500, Ram 4500, and Ram 5500 Cab Chassis, along with the 2026 Jeep Cherokee, as confirmed by the NHTSA.
The issue arises from a flaw in the trailer tow module’s design, which may cause trailer lights not to function and trailer brakes to fail, thereby heightening the potential for accidents.
Overall, this recall affects 456,287 vehicles, with every one of them potentially exhibiting this defect.
To address the issue, the NHTSA indicates that dealerships will offer a free replacement of the trailer tow module. Vehicle owners can expect to receive notification letters by March 24, 2026.
