Meghan Markle is embracing the festive season with enthusiasm.
The 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex recently shared a clip on Instagram featuring her husband, Prince Harry, from his appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Wednesday night.
This Instagram update from Meghan comes shortly after news broke that her father, Thomas Markle, had been urgently hospitalized for surgery on Tuesday.
In a playful segment, the 41-year-old Duke of Sussex joined host Stephen Colbert, 61, to reenact a memorable scene from the “Great British Bake Off.”
The duo humorously imitated British TV host Alison Hammond and contestant Mark Lutton from a Christmas special aired in December 2023.
The Prince, as Hammond, asked Stephen, who was Lutton: “If you was treated like a king for the day, what would you want me to do for ya?”
“Um, bake for me probably,” Lutton replied with his thick Irish accent.
Hammond, who has her own thick English accent exclaimed: “You’d want me to do what? Beg?”
Lutton said “bake,” before spelling the word out.
“Oh bake!” Hammond responded.
Prince Harry and Stephen both burst out in laughter, much like Hammond and Lutton did during their real life conversation.
Earlier in the day, Meghan shared a clip from her newly released Netflix special: “With Love Meghan: Holiday Celebration.”
“It’s here,” she wrote alongside two champagne emojis. “With Love Meghan: Holiday Celebration. now streaming on @Netflix.”
The “Suits” actress has yet to publicly comment on her father’s hospitalization.
According to Daily Mail, Thomas, 81, suddenly fell ill at his home in the Philippines on Tuesday.
He underwent a three-hour surgery and was transferred to the intensive care unit.
“I took dad to a hospital close to our home and they did various scans and the doctors said his life was in imminent danger,” Thomas Markle Jr. told the outlet Wednesday.
“My dad has undergone emergency surgery,” continued the 59-year-old. “I would ask everyone around the world to keep him in their thoughts. My only wish is that Meghan shows my father some compassion. He is literally fighting for his life.”
Thomas Jr. noted that he expects his dad to be in the hospital for “a long time” and that it will be a “grueling” recovery.
Thomas’ daughter, Samantha, said that she is praying for her dad.
“He is a strong man, but he has been through so much,” the 61-year-old shared with Daily Mail. “I am praying that he is strong enough to survive this.”
“My father has been through two heart attacks, a stroke and an earthquake,” Samantha stated. “I hope he can pull through this.”
Thomas previously suffered a massive stroke in 2022.
