Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr, denies claims he's ‘trapped’ in Philippines apartment after earthquake

Meghan Markle’s elderly father, Thomas Markle Sr, confirmed he was “fine” after false claims from the Duchess of Sussex’s estranged half-sister that he was “trapped” in his Philippines apartment on the 19th floor during a deadly earthquake.

Thomas Markle clarified that he was safe in his hotel room following the most lethal earthquake the country has experienced in over a decade, mentioning that the epicenter was approximately 100 miles from his residence.

“I’m currently sitting on the couch in my hotel room, with my feet kicked up and watching Charlie Chan movies. I’m quite comfortable,” Thomas Markle told TMZ on Wednesday.

Concerns were kicked into high gear after Samantha Markle, his eldest daughter from his first marriage, posted that her father was “trapped” and “unable to walk” following the natural disaster.

“My father is stuck on the 19th floor of a building in the Philippines after a massive earthquake and he can’t walk and he is trapped,” she wrote on X.

“As of today he is OK, and making plans to get out of that building. They seem to be safe for now, and hopefully there will be no serious aftershocks. Provisions are being made so that he won’t be trapped in a similar situation again. God bless and stay safe everyone!”

The retired TV lighting director, 81, had permanently relocated to the Philippines earlier this year with his son, Thomas Markle Jr., The Post exclusively revealed.

In a further twist, Thomas Sr. added that he hasn’t even spoken to Samantha — and was unsure of why she had made the claim.

Shortly after her initial tweet, Samantha returned to the social media platform to bizarrely place blame on the Duchess of Sussex.

Samantha suggested that the “Suits” alum — who resides in Montecito, Calif., with her husband Prince Harry and their two children — was somehow responsible for putting her father “in this position.”

“Shame on my disgusting evil f–king sister forever putting our father in this position. I hope she is cursed,” Samantha viciously wrote in a hate-fueled rant on X, per the Independent.

“Shame on Harry and Meghan. May they be damned.. he gave her everything and this is how she repays him.”

Samantha has since made her X account private, meaning that non-followers are not able to see her posts.

Meanwhile, rescue teams used backhoes and sniffer dogs to look for survivors in collapsed houses and other damaged buildings after the earthquake killed at least 72 people and injured more than 290 others.

There was no immediate number on how many people were still missing.
