Megyn Kelly has taken a firm stance regarding the fatal shooting of a protester by federal agents during an anti-immigration demonstration in Minneapolis. The former Fox News anchor expressed her lack of sympathy for the deceased protester, Alex Pretti, on her podcast.

“I know I’m supposed to feel sorry for Alex Pretti, but I don’t,” Kelly stated. She continued by explaining her own approach to similar situations, emphasizing, “You know why I wasn’t shot by Border Patrol this weekend? Because I stayed inside and kept away from their operations.”

Kelly further elaborated on her perspective by saying that if she were to participate in a protest, she would “do it peacefully on the sidewalk without interfering,” highlighting that crossing the line into interference is where problems arise.

She emphasized the seriousness of confronting law enforcement, noting that “laying hands” on Border Patrol officers is now considered a felony and cautioned that any act resembling resistance could lead to “serious trouble.”

The incident in question involved Pretti, a 37-year-old VA nurse, who was reportedly filming the agents with his phone. The situation escalated when he intervened after witnessing an agent push a woman to the ground.

He was pepper-sprayed and tackled to the ground by half a dozen agents who grappled with him while on the ground.

Pretti was shot ten times after his licensed handgun was removed from his waistband.

Kelly in a separate post on X said: ‘He was an agitator. He was in a physical confrontation with the Feds a week earlier. Still, he went back and injected himself into a law enforcement operation. FAFO [f*** around and find out].

‘As for me, I have plenty of compassion – for the innocent Americans being killed, raped and molested by illegals. Where are your tears for them?’

Pretti was left with a broken rib in a scuffle with federal agents the week before he was shot dead, it emerged on Tuesday.

The alleged altercation occurred after Pretti stopped his car upon seeing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers chasing a family on foot, a witness told CNN. 

Pretti allegedly began shouting and blowing a whistle, and was then tackled to the ground by five agents. The source claimed one officer leaned on his back, causing his ribs to break.

The ICU nurse, who allegedly ‘thought he was going to die’, was reportedly released at the scene – but allegedly remained on federal agents’ radar.

Agents deployed in Minneapolis were instructed earlier this month to ‘capture all images, license plates, identifications, and general information on hotels, agitators, protestors,’ documents obtained by CNN show. 

Federal officers are understood to have kept documented details about Pretti, although it is unclear when they first started collecting information on him. 

Donald Trump on Tuesday said that Pretti should not have been carrying a gun at the protest.

Asked whether he would label Pretti an ‘assassin’ – the words of White House Deputy Chief of Staff – Trump disagreed but added: ‘You can’t have guns. You can’t walk in with guns. You just can’t. You can’t walk in with guns.’

The President on Monday rebuked Homeland Security Secretary Krisi Noem as he he parachuted her longtime rival Tom Homan into Minnesota to lead the deteriorating migrant crackdown.

Trump was frustrated with Noem after she branded Pretti a ‘domestic terrorist’ at a news conference after the shooting, reports said.

The Homeland chief was grilled by Trump about her remarks at a meeting attended by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles in the Oval Office late on Sunday.

Now Noem has been dispatched to secure the Southern Border, away from the administration’s immigration enforcement operations in the interior.

But it appears that her job is safe despite calls for her to resign from senior Democrats, including Senator John Fetterman, a staunch supporter of Trump’s immigration policy.

House Democrats on Capitol Hill have launched an investigation into Noem, while 140 members of the party have co-sponsored an impeachment resolution.

Republican lawmakers, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Kentucky Rep. James Comer, have also expressed concern that Noem’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota may have gone off the rails.

The Homeland Security Secretary has seen a dramatic loss of confidence following the fatal shootings of Pretti and anti-ICE protester Renee Good on January 7.

The latest Daily Mail/JL Partners poll, finds that Noem has a paltry 33 percent approval rating, compared to 37 percent last month before the shootings.

Her disapproval rating has risen to 41 percent compared to 37 percent in December, per the last Daily Mail/ JL Partners survey.

Nearly half of survey respondents, 46 percent, believe that Noem should be impeached. Another 42 percent say President Donald Trump should fire her.

The poll was conducted on January 26 among over 1,000 registered voters with a margin of error of 3.1 percent.
