Megyn Kelly blasts Sydney Sweeney over controversial dress

Megyn Kelly recently expressed her disapproval of a daring outfit worn by Sydney Sweeney at a red carpet event celebrating the ‘Power of Women.’ The actress’s choice of attire, a glimmering silver gown, drew criticism for its revealing nature, prompting Kelly to speculate that Sweeney might have been set up at the Variety event in Los Angeles.

The conservative pundit voiced her concerns, stating, “I take issue with this. The dress is entirely transparent, exposing her completely.” Kelly went on to emphasize the lack of modesty in Sweeney’s ensemble.

While acknowledging the actress’s physical attributes as “remarkable,” Kelly compared Sweeney’s fashion choice to that of Kim Kardashian. She noted, “It reminded me of Kim Kardashian, who often reveals too much and diminishes the allure of mystery, which is what many find most intriguing.”

While noting that the star’s breasts are ‘enormous’ and ‘spectacular,’ Kelly compared Sweeney unfavorably to the style of Kim Kardashian.

‘She reminded me of Kim Kardashian who overshares and then takes away the thing that is the sexiest, which is every guy’s hoping to be the one who actually sees them for real, and leaving a little to the imagination,’ Kelly said.

Kelly, who said she’s ‘a Sydney Sweeney fan,’ worries that the 28-year-old and other Hollywood stars and socialites may be duped into wearing revealing outfits.

‘I think she might have been misled into it. That’s my bet, because, like when I did a saucy photo shoot one time for GQ, what I wore was appropriate. It was just a slip dress. That’s all it was. I did not show anything close to areola then, I never would.’

‘But I think probably she’s very young… and I guarantee you, somebody brought the dress to her and was like, “Now we’ll take it next level.” And she trusted the wrong person, and before you knew it, we had all seen it,’ Kelly added.

The White Lotus star, 28, posed on Wednesday night up in a sparkly silver dress with a sheer bodice that put her famous chest on display.

The blonde bombshell exuded confidence in the daring look in front of photographers.

She was seen rocking her new bleach blonde bob, which was styled to perfectly frame her heart-shaped face.

Sweeney, who went viral for chowing down on a hotdog at the World Series, let her natural beauty shine by opting for a soft glam makeup look.

She wore a bight pink cheek, a nude lip and she coated her lashes in black mascara for added drama.

As for accessories, the starlet opted for dangly silver earrings and matching rings to further glam up the look for the special evening.

Sweeney flaunted the daring look on the red carpet as she arrived to the star-studded festivities.

The blonde bombshell was also seen crossing paths with Jamie Lee Curtis and Sharon Stone – and the stars paused for memorable snaps together.

She was later spotted flashing a big smile as she mingled with other guests while standing next to a circular table.

The actress was one of the honorees during the event – which was announced last month in September by Variety.

Other celebrities that were recognized during the big night included Jamie Lee Curtis, Nicole Scherzinger, Wanda Sykes and Kate Hudson.

Before the main ceremony kicked off, Sweeney had a conversation with Variety and opened up about wrapping season three of the HBO Max series Euphoria.

The star is set to film her final scenes later this week and expressed, ‘It’s gonna be a really bittersweet moment.’

‘I’m kind of terrified for how emotional it’s gonna be. It’s been such a journey. It’s been my entire twenties,’ Sweeney told the outlet.

‘They’ve been my family and friends for so long. I’ve been forever grateful for all of them.’

Her appearance at the Variety event comes just one day after the actress attended the 2025 World Series on Tuesday – and shared special moments from the outing to her Instagram page.

Sweeney supported the L.A. Dodgers by wearing the team’s jersey as they took part in a match against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Also on Tuesday, she sent social media users into a frenzy when she voiced the Game 4 intro only minutes before the game began.

Sweeney was also honored with the Spotlight Award at her Christy screening on Monday.

While recently speaking with Variety, the beauty revealed that she has no intentions to undergo plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures.

‘I’ve never gotten anything done. I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing. I’m going to age gracefully.’

She added, ‘It’s really funny. I’ll see things online like “comparison pictures.” I’m like, “I’m 12 in that photo. Of course I’m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I’m 15 years older.”‘

The star also shared, ‘I play a lot of very divisive characters, and I think that a lot of people think they know me, but they don’t.

‘So when people think, “Ah, she’s a sex symbol,” or “She’s leaning into that,” I’m like, “No, I just feel good and I’m doing it for myself and I feel strong.”‘

The actress continued, ‘I hope that I can inspire other women to be confident and just flaunt what they got and feel good because you shouldn’t have to apologize or hide or cover up in any room.’
