A newly surfaced video captures the dramatic incident where a man was hit by a chair tossed by someone believed to be his friend outside a Melbourne strip club on Friday evening.
Initially aired by Seven News on Saturday, the CCTV footage vividly depicts the chaotic scene unfolding outside Bar 20, located on King Street in the central business district.
Further context is provided by footage shared on X, filmed from across the street, offering a broader view of the event.
As reported by Seven’s Paul Dowsley, the pair had visited the club shortly before 9 a.m., only to be ejected shortly thereafter.
The confrontation continued outside, where one of the men can be seen being knocked to the ground by security personnel.
In separate footage, a second man can be seen walking next door to grab a wooden chair from a restaurant while a staff member attempts to stop him.
“He just suddenly asked for, can I borrow a chair? I tried to stop him asking, it’s our top chair, you cannot take it,” a staffer told Seven News.
He throws the chair towards the front of the club where his friend is still outside with security.
It appears he was not aiming for security, but the chair collided mid-air with the back of his unsuspecting mate’s head.
As he falls to the ground, a security guard can be seen laughing and pointing at the victim.
The thrower puts his hands on his head in disbelief.
It is not clear what injuries were sustained.
News.com.au understands the matter was not reported to police.
