Highlights from the Mets’ Spring Training session on Sunday:
Four score
The Mets showcased their power by hitting four home runs against the Yankees’ pitching staff. Jared Young, Luis Torrens, Hayden Senger, and minor league utility player JT Schwartz all went yard, a significant improvement after the team was limited to just two hits in their Grapefruit League opener the previous day.

Slow starts
In the future, Carson Benge and Ryan Clifford might play pivotal roles in the Mets’ lineup. However, during their debut in the Grapefruit League, both players struggled, going hitless in a combined six at-bats.
Meanwhile, Pete Alonso continued his impressive form, hitting another home run on Sunday, this time against the Tigers.
Caught my eye
Pete Alonso homered again Sunday, this time against the Tigers.
It was the first baseman’s second homer in as many spring training games with the Orioles, who signed the ex-Met to a five-year, $155 million contract in the offseason.

Monday’s schedule
The first road trip of the spring continues when the Mets visit the Blue Jays at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Fla. at 1:07 p.m.
Clay Holmes is set to make his spring debut in his second season as a starter.
