Michael Wolff told Jeffrey Epstein he could end Trump's 2016 campaign

Controversial author Michael Wolff once suggested to his acquaintance Jeffrey Epstein that he could significantly impact Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign by publicly discussing his ties with Trump. Wolff hinted that Epstein could become the decisive factor in thwarting Trump’s political ambitions.

In a message dated February 19, 2016, Wolff informed Epstein, “The New York Times has reached out to me about you and Trump. Additionally, the Clinton campaign is conducting a thorough investigation. It might be wise for you to make the first move.”

Epstein, who has since passed away under notorious circumstances, extended an invitation to Wolff to join him and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak for a discussion. Wolff, however, declined the offer, and their correspondence seemingly paused until February 24 of the same year.

“There are a lot of journalists reaching out,” Epstein noted in their next exchange.

Wolff responded, emphasizing Epstein’s potential influence, “Indeed, you’re the key to unraveling Trump.”

Weeks earlier, on Jan. 21, 2016, Wolff coached Epstein that “the more Trump looks real, or perish the thought, inevitable, the more reporters are going to focus on this, so, as you will not be surprised, you need a strategy.”

In earlier exchanges, Wolff had also tried to make the case that Epstein should let Trump “hang himself” with his own PR battles involving allegations of sexual misconduct.

“I think you should let him hang himself If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency,” Wolff told Epstein on Dec. 16, 2015.

“You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt,” Wolff added. “Of course, it is possible that, when asked, he’ll say Jeffrey is a great guy and has gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which is to be outlawed in a Trump regime.”
