A defense lawyer in Michigan is contesting the FBI’s assertion that his client and several other young men, who were apprehended on Friday, were orchestrating a violent act slated for the Halloween weekend. The lawyer, Amir Makled, represents a man from Dearborn, Michigan, who remains in custody as of Saturday.
According to FBI Director Kash Patel, who announced the arrests, the group was allegedly involved in scheming a “potential terrorist attack.” While he did not provide extensive details immediately, Patel assured that more information would be shared soon.
Makled, however, has expressed skepticism regarding the FBI’s claims. After examining the evidence available to him, he told the Associated Press that he anticipates no charges will be brought against his client, arguing that there was no actual terror plot in motion.
