An intriguing incident aboard a United Airlines flight has captured the attention of aviation officials, as investigations are underway to determine the cause behind a cracked windshield. The flight, which departed from Denver and was destined for Los Angeles International Airport on October 16, had to make an unscheduled landing, officials confirmed to Nexstar’s KTLA.

A United Airlines spokesperson detailed the events, stating, “On Thursday, United flight 1093 made a safe landing in Salt Lake City to address damage to its multilayered windshield.” The airline swiftly organized an alternate aircraft to ensure the 134 passengers and six crew members reached Los Angeles later that same day. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to restore the original aircraft, a Boeing 737 Max 8, back to operational status.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched its own inquiry into the incident. In a statement released via X, they confirmed that the “cracked windscreen on a Boeing 737-8” has been dispatched to their laboratories for a thorough examination.
