A 64-year-old Middleburg resident, Shawn Cirignano, is currently in custody at the Clay County Jail, with his bond set at $1 million, following allegations of possessing over 2,000 images depicting child sexual abuse.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has charged Cirignano with ten felonies after a significant cache of images and videos involving child sexual exploitation was discovered in his possession. The arrest was executed by the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team at Cirignano’s residence on Quarterhorse Trail on Wednesday, November 19, after an extensive investigation conducted by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit.
The investigation began when the Sheriff’s Office received nine CyberTipline Reports in September from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. These reports indicated that more than 2,000 images linked to Cirignano’s email accounts and phone numbers were flagged by Google as containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Cirignano remains in custody and is slated to make his next court appearance on December 17, according to records from the Clay County jail.

Cirignano is being held in the Clay County jail on a $1 million bond. According to CCSO jail records, he is currently scheduled to appear in court next on Dec. 17.
CCSO says the investigation was conducted with assistance from the Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
