A Middleburg resident, Shawn Cirignano, aged 64, is currently detained in Clay County with a bond set at $1 million, following allegations of possessing over 2,000 images depicting child sexual abuse.
MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — Facing ten felony charges, Cirignano was apprehended after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office discovered a trove of images and videos involving child sexual exploitation in his possession.
Authorities arrested Cirignano at his residence on Quarterhorse Trail on Wednesday, November 19. The operation was conducted by the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, following an investigation spearheaded by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving nine CyberTipline Reports in September from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. These reports highlighted that over 2,000 images linked to Cirignano’s email and phone numbers had been identified by Google as child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Currently held in the Clay County jail, Cirignano is awaiting his next court appearance, which is scheduled for December 17, according to jail records.
CCSO says the investigation was conducted with assistance from the Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
