A chaotic scene unfolded in New York City on Monday when a truck collided with a parked van, propelling it onto the sidewalk and injuring at least nine individuals. The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) quickly confirmed the details of the incident to Fox News Digital.

The crash occurred in the busy area of Midtown Manhattan, precisely at the intersection of West 30th Street and Eighth Avenue, shortly before 4 p.m. Initially, authorities were alerted to a report suggesting that a vehicle had crashed into a building, trapping a person in the process.

Upon arrival, first responders found no structural damage to any nearby buildings and later verified that no individuals were pinned under the vehicle or debris. Despite the alarming nature of the initial report, emergency crews efficiently managed the situation.

The FDNY and other emergency personnel swiftly attended to the scene, ensuring the safety and treatment of those affected. The incident, though startling, was handled with the professionalism and urgency typical of New York City’s emergency services.

Authorities told FOX 5 New York that the truck hit a parked van, and after the impact, the van was pushed onto the sidewalk, hitting several pedestrians.

All those injured were transported to local hospitals by the FDNY.

None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to officials.

Pictures from the scene show a damaged Ryder box truck in the street with its windshield shattered. The other damaged van was also photographed at the scene, its rear end crushed.
