A mysterious object from the sky has turned up in a Minnesota cornfield.
Officials said a large metallic “space object” was discovered last Wednesday in a field in western Minnesota.
The 11-foot piece of apparent space debris was found just outside Scott Township at about 3:30 p.m., when a local farmer was harvesting corn, according to the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office.
Based on the height of the corn growing beneath it, the farmer estimated that the cosmic debris had been sitting in the field for at least six weeks, KGW8 reported.

Authorities have not determined where the object came from or who owns it.
The oversized metal structure was described by local authorities as “presumably a space object.” It also contains serial numbers that could help investigators identify its owner, according to the local outlet.
Federal and state officials are working together to determine who owns the object and remove it from the cornfield, police said.
Officials said the massive piece of metal poses no threat to the public.
