In a remarkable turn of events, an 82-year-old woman emerged with only minor injuries after her car was struck by a freight train in New Jersey this week. The incident unfolded when the woman, driving on a Wednesday afternoon, halted her vehicle upon noticing flashing lights that signaled an approaching train.

Unbeknownst to her, the car had stopped directly on the tracks, a perilous position that soon led to a close brush with disaster. As the train bore down, the CSX locomotive collided with her vehicle, propelling it forward for a quarter of a mile before it could come to a halt.

Astonishingly, despite the severity of the impact, the woman sustained only a minor leg injury, a testament to her incredible luck amid such a harrowing ordeal. She was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention, ensuring her swift recovery.
