A Colombian mayor has reported the discovery of a body believed to be that of a missing American. The individual is suspected to be a 32-year-old flight attendant from Texas, Eric Fernando Gutierrez Molina, who worked for American Airlines and had recently vanished while in Colombia.
“Since last Sunday, efforts have been underway to locate Eric Gutiérrez, a missing U.S. national,” stated MedellÃn’s Mayor Federico Gutiérrez in a Friday post on X, translated from Spanish.
During a press conference on December 19, 2025, held by Mayor Federico Gutierrez in MedellÃn, he shared, “Tragically, a deceased individual has been discovered in the area between Jericó and Puente Iglesias.”

“Unfortunately, a lifeless body has just been found between the municipality of Jericó and Puente Iglesias,” he noted.
“There is a very high probability that it is this person,” the mayor explained.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic passing of our colleague,” American Airlines noted in a statement provided to Fox News Digital on Saturday.

“Our thoughts and support are with his family, loved ones and colleagues during this difficult time, and we are doing all we can to assist Colombian law enforcement in its investigation,” the company added.
