Now that the Cubs are flying the W, they will take on the Brewers in the National League Division Series later this week.

Tickets for home games at Wrigley Field for the NLD will go on sale Friday, the Cubs announced.

Fans celebrate series victory

Fans telling said the series was full of roller coaster moments, but the moment that mattered most for them was watching the marquee outside Wrigley switch to read “Cubs Win!” There was uproar outside Wrigley Field.

“We were up the whole way, we didn’t let anyone through and that’s all that matters,” Cubs fan Angel Mendoza said.

A sea of overjoyed Cubs fans poured out on to a celebration on Clark Street as it basked in the Cubby blue glow.

“I’m happy they won and I wanted to come down here and celebrate,” Cubs fans Frank Perrone said.

Emotions were running high, the “W” flying even higher.

“It was amazing, it was the best feeling ever,” Cubs fans Sydney Schultz said. “I knew they could do it. I never lost hope. Go Cubs!”

Fans are already making plans for game one on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Milwaukee, or as many call it, “Wrigley North.”

There will also be watch parties in Wrigleyville for the away games.

Pre-game hype in Wrigleyville

As the sun rose over Wrigley Field, ahead of game three of the Cubs-Padres Wild Card matchup, fans were mentally preparing for whatever comes next.

“I’m feeling confident,” Cubs fan Jim Baker said. “I think we are going to do it. I mean it’s time again, right?”

Orlando’s Jim Baker got to experience game two with his son. Before flying home, they got some last minute pictures, capturing lifetime memories together.

“I’ve been a lot of places, done a lot of things,” Baker said. “This is the place to be at this time. Minus World Series game seven, this is it right here.”

This is the Cubs first Wild Card trip since 2020 and the first time they’ve had a shot at the National League Division Series since 2017.

After falling to the Padres 3-0 during game two, die-hard Cubs fans say they are optimistic a “W” will be flying over Wrigley Field this evening.

“This is my first McDonald’s sandwich in a while,” Cubs fan Inder Gunnala said. “I’m stressed. So that’s why I got to do it.”

With his sausage, egg and cheese in hand, Gunnala anxiously paced around Wrigley trying to walk off some anxiety before Thursday’s game.

“You know what, we got it today,” Gunnala said. “I’m so confident. This team has something special about it. We absolutely have it today.”

Tampa’s Ash Rader got some last-minute pics with his family under the marquee with his granddaughter aptly named Wrigley before heading back to Florida Thursday.

“We are moths to a flame coming here,” Rader said. “It’s a pilgrimage… This is a culmination of just absolute joy for me to be able to experience a third-generation of Cub fandom.”
