Mom Allegedly Kills Husband, 3-Year-Old Son at Family Resort

A 27-year-old mother allegedly killed her husband and their 3-year-old son before attempting suicide Monday during a family stay in Pennsylvania’s Poconos, police said. She reportedly told first responders that she had worked “so hard” to be the best mother and wife.

Metallica Rose Harrison is accused of fatally stabbing her husband, Charles Harrison, and their toddler, identified by the initials T.H., inside a room at Great Wolf Lodge, WNEP reported. She allegedly then cut her wrists and neck.

Harrison called 911 and asked for guidance on finding a vein to puncture, telling dispatchers that she needed help dying, according to police.

“My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room,” she reportedly said. “They’re already gone, I’m sorry.”

Cops said they found the bodies of Charles Harrison and his 3-year-old son in room 2030 inside Great Wolf Lodge after Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, allegedly slayed the two.

According to an affidavit, Harrison stabbed both victims in the chest and attempted to puncture her own neck.

“This was a violent domestic tragedy in which two people, a boy and his father, lost their lives,” the Monroe County district attorney said, adding that authorities do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.

Harrison, who is from Towanda, declined to speak with officers following her arrest, saying she was “suicidal, not stupid.” She later made a disturbing series of statements to emergency medical workers while being taken to the hospital, the affidavit states.

“Every day, I work so hard to be the best person, the best mother, the best wife,” Harrison reportedly told medics.

“It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child,” she continued, according to the document.

She also allegedly asked medics how deep her vein was so she would know “for next time.”

Investigators recovered two teal-handled knives from the room, along with containers holding what appeared to be blood and several medication bottles. Great Wolf Lodge said the knives did not come from the resort.

Police said they collected more than 80 pieces of evidence — possibly 90 — from Room 2030 at the Pennsylvania water park resort.

Harrison faces two counts of criminal homicide. She remains hospitalized and had not been arraigned as of Tuesday night.

Authorities said the family had been staying at the resort for several weeks. They checked in on Sept. 21 and extended their visit on Oct. 5.

Great Wolf Lodge spokesperson Jason Lasecki said the company was “deeply saddened and heartbroken” by the incident.

“It was an isolated family incident, and we’re cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation,” Lasecki said.
