NYC parkgoer shot in the face by moped-riding hooligans at Fort Washington Park

In Manhattan, a man endured a facial gunshot wound at the hands of two armed individuals on a moped. However, he retaliated by firing his weapon at the fleeing perpetrators, according to sources.

Police sources revealed that the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was with a female companion perched on a rock beside the Hudson River in Fort Washington Park when the duo on a moped confronted them around 11:50 p.m.

After a brief exchange and tussle, one of the moped-ridingĀ  men fired a gun and hit the victim in the face.

Reacting swiftly, the man pulled out his firearm and discharged two rounds toward the suspects, who quickly escaped on their motorized vehicle, disappearing to an unknown location, as reported by the NYPD.

The victim is suspected to survive.

An investigation is ongoing.
