OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) A mother says her 10-year-old daughter was involved in a fight at Jefferson Middle School on Wednesday.

Veronica Murrow says her daughter and the other student are both in the fifth grade.

“My daughter was not going to let her bully her,” said Murrow.

Murrow also said, “A mother had seen what was going on and she got out of her vehicle and ran up and was cheering her daughter on to to beat my daughter up.”

The clip was recorded by another student and shared with News 4.

After about 10 seconds, the video shows an adult trying to break up the fight.

“She used excessive force on my child,” said Murrow.

Murrow said it was the other student’s mother who rushed in and allegedly kneeled on her 10-year-old daughter.

“She sat on my child with her knees and then she pushed my child down and stood over my child and told my child what’s up with her fists balled,” Murrow said.

At that point, Murrow feels the mother crossed a line.

Murrow said she was hurt and felt angry when watching the video.

Her daughter is now suspended because of the physical altercation. The punishment for the other student is unknown.

“I had to take my daughter to the emergency room. Like my daughter’s neck hurts, her side hurts, like what if she would have broken my daughter’s ribs?” said Murrow.

Murrow said she is moving her daughter to another school and has begun talking with attorneys to pursue legal action.

Murrow has also filed a report with Oklahoma City Police.

News 4 reached out to Oklahoma City Public Schools for comment and is waiting on a statement from them.

We now know they have reached out to Jefferson Middle School families about the incident.
