MSNBC's Joy Reid 'Explains' Why DeSantis Is Popular With Hispanics and It Couldn't Be More Ridiculous – RedState

MSNBC’s race-hustling host Joy Reid and her ridiculous ReidOut cartoon show have repeatedly demonstrated her ability to connect, in two dots or less, everything in America with “racism” and “white supremacy; with a degree of prowess unequaled by the average run-of-the-mill race-baiter in the left-wing media. I’m just sayin’. Joy Reid makes even Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton look like pikers.

Let’s first look at some relative reality before we get to Reid’s silly nonsense.

Much to the chagrin of the Democrats and their lapdog “mainstream” media, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis could become the first Republican candidate for governor to win traditionally blue Miami-Dade in 20 years, as reported by NBC News, due in large part to his surging support among Hispanic voters.

Miami-Dade, Florida’s most populous county, is 70 percent Hispanic. The last time a Republican governor won Miami-Dade was Jeb Bush in 2002. Unlike DeSantis, Bush held press conferences in fluent Spanish and his wife is Mexican-born. Fernand Amandi, a Democratic consultant and pollster in Miami told NBC that DeSantis is an “outlier” among Republican governors:

DeSantis overperforms here in a way that you don’t tend to see Republican candidates perform elsewhere with Hispanics.

Moreover, while Democrats frantically hoped DesSantis’ genius shipment of busloads of illegal aliens to the exclusive Democrat enclave of Martha’s Vineyard would negatively impact his support among Latinos, the opposite has occurred. A recently released national poll shows a plurality of Hispanic voters support DeSantis’ relocation of illegal migrants in what political strategists called a sign that the once-reliable liberal demographic is gravitating toward the Republican Party.

Anyway, let’s now enjoy Joy Reid’s ridiculousness. In response to the “horrific” survey results, above, here’s noted political analyst Reid’s “explanation” of an increase in Hispanic support for DeSantis in Miami-Dade:

This wouldn’t surprise me at all. The Proud Boys have all but merged with the Miami-Dade Republican Party. Sociopolitically, Florida is basically morphing into Brazil.

Wait — huh?

Reid included a link from a Miami New Times article titled What We Know About the Proud Boys in the Miami-Dade GOP Executive Committee. The opening paragraph sums up the belief parroted by Reid:

Some say the best way to make a big change is to start small. This appears to be the latest strategy of a local branch of far-right Proud Boys organization, which, over the past two years, has somewhat quietly infiltrated the ranks of the Republican Party’s local governing body, the Miami-Dade Republican Executive Committee.

Perfect Democrat “logic.” Hispanic Americans in Miami-Dade are about to vote for a Republican gubernatorial candidate for the first time in 20 years, which proves to Reid and her ilk that they must be racist white supremacists. Or, something. So what about the Proud Boys?

After the Miami Herald editorial, which was in agreement with a New York Times report characterizing the Miami-Dade Republican Party as being “gripped” by the Proud Boys, Miami-Dade GOP Chairman Rene Garcia responded to criticism of Proud Boy members in party leadership roles:

For the Miami Herald to identify and say that one or two members, (who) are part of the Proud Boys, is a complete takeover of the GOP… that is pretty much inaccurate and a lie. Yes, we have fringe elements. Yes, we have different points of view in our party. That’s how we are. And my job as Republican chairman is to protect everyone’s First Amendment rights, however wrong they may be.

Garcia was referring to two Proud Boys on the Miami-Dade Executive Committee who were charged in connection with the January 6th Capitol riot. He said that despite the Proud Boys being charged, they can only be removed after a conviction.

The moment they are convicted, there will be a process in place to remove them from the Miami-Dade GOP.

We now have a rules committee that we didn’t have before I became chair. We have started a process to make sure we have a better process of vetting people who are coming into the GOP.

OK, the “we now have a better vetting process” excuse is lame as hell. So, if there were two murderers on the Miami-Dade Executive Committee later discovered by the new vetting process, would they still be on the committee? But here’s the larger point, as it relates to Reid’s ridiculous assertion:

Are we supposed to believe that two Proud Boys charged in conjunction with the Jan. 6 Capitol riot are responsible for the surge in Hispanic voter support for DeSantis throughout Miami-Dade? Of course not, and race-hustling Joy Reid knows it. If MSNBC’s race-hustler extraordinaire believed a racist word she says, she’d have to be insane. Hmmm…

As is the case with all of her racist antics, Joy Reid’s singular sock-puppet purpose is to shore up the low-information left-wing base.
