KAYSVILLE, Utah (ABC4) Emergency crews responded to multiple crashes on US-89 near Kaysville and Farmington, Utah, on Friday morning, involving about 30 cars overall.

Lt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol told affiliate KTVX that US-89 saw multiple crashes on both the northbound and southbound lanes of the highway.

The northbound side had four crashes that involved nine cars, while the southbound side of US-80 involved about 20 vehicles. Roden said responders are still working on getting all the different crashes separated on the southbound lanes.

Roden confirmed with KTVX that there were no serious injuries on the northbound side of the crash. Meanwhile, the Kaysville Fire Department said in a social media post that the southbound lanes resulted in six injuries, with one being transported to the hospital for further care.

The Utah Department of Transportation announced that US-89 was brought down to just a single lane near mile marker 397, bringing heavy delays to the morning work commute. As of 9:30 a.m., Roden said some of the lanes have since been reopened and traffic is flowing more freely.

Weather was likely the main factor for the crashes on Friday as a late winter storm moved across the Wasatch Front on Friday morning. Roden said the storm made road conditions in Davis County very slick.
