The president’s grandson, Kai Trump, caught the attention of spectators when he appeared with an arm sling at the College Football Playoff Championship game on Monday.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump, joined by his daughter Ivanka Trump and other family members, attended the College Football Playoff Championship game on Monday night. Among the group was Kai Trump, the president’s eldest grandchild, who was spotted with his arm in a sling during the event.

As the camera scanned the crowd during the pregame ceremonies, the Trump family was shown standing for the national anthem. Observers noticed Kai with a sling supporting his arm and his wrist wrapped up.

The championship face-off on Monday night featured Indiana and Miami, as both teams vied for the coveted national title.

Earlier this month, Kai Trump shared that he had undergone surgery on his left wrist due to an injury sustained while playing golf.

What happened to Kai Trump?

Earlier this month, Kai Trump revealed she underwent surgery on her left wrist due to a golf injury.

“Today, I underwent left wrist surgery to address injuries to the stabilizing tissues of my ECU tendon and damage to my triangular fibrocartilage complex,” she said on Jan. 7. “The surgery was successfully performed at the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute by Dr. Thomas Graham, Chief of Jefferson Orthopedics. I look forward to my rehab ahead in the coming months. I am excited for the ability to play golf pain free!”

Kai Trump is playing golf at the collegiate level at the University of Miami. She’s the daughter of Donald Trump Jr.

Kai Trump made her LPGA debut in November 2025 in The Annika at Pelican Golf Club

The eldest granddaughter of the president is alo an influencer on social media; her behind-the-scenes video from election night has more than 5.1 million views on YouTube, and her video from going to the Ryder Cup with her grandfather has been viewed about 2 million times on YouTube alone. And yes, she plays golf with her grandfather, whose affinity for the game is no secret.

“We play a lot,” Kai Trump said. “We have a great time out there.”
