Kai Schreiber, the daughter of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, seemed in high spirits as she strolled through New York City holding hands with an unidentified companion.
The 16-year-old rising fashion model has been making waves in the industry since coming out as transgender earlier in the year, and it looks like she might be in a new romantic relationship.
On Wednesday, the teenager couldn’t hold back her smile while stepping out with an unidentified companion, who looked equally as smitten.
For their casual outing, the high schooler wore a black-and-white striped mini dress paired with classic Converse sneakers.
Despite the seemingly affectionate display, it is unknown if the pair’s relationship is romantic or platonic.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Watts and Liev’s representatives, but have not heard back, at this time.

Kai Schreiber, the daughter of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, appeared delighted while walking through New York City hand-in-hand with a mysterious man.
In June, Kai opened up about her struggles with gender identity from a young age and her coming out journey.
While speaking to Interview Magazine, the rising star explained she ‘always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman, like Marilyn Monroe.’
Additionally, she praised stars, like Alex Consani, Hunter Schafer, Hari Nef, Dara, Richie Shazam and Colin Jones, for being inspirational to her ‘as a young trans girl’ navigating life through turbulent times for the community.
‘I’m always going to look up to the older generation of transgender people, especially in fashion,’ Kai told the magazine. ‘It’s so great that there’s a strong community of us in the fashion world; it’s really a doll takeover.’
The second-generation star said that she had a breakthrough earlier this year when working for the fashion house Valentino.
‘That job made me realize, “OK, this is what I want to do. I want to be a supermodel.” Period.’
Kai also opened up to the publication about what she’s been doing in terms of honing her craft as a regular presence on the catwalk.
‘I’ve been practicing my walks in the kitchen for years; my mom can show you all the videos I forced her to film,’ Kai said.

Kai also shared her fashion preferences in the wide-ranging chat with the outlet – joking she’s ‘basic, but in a chic way.’
‘I love my low-rise jeans and black cardigan. That’s my go-to outfit. I love when people have their own personal style,’ she said. ‘If you’re presenting yourself in a unique, cool way, people are immediately drawn in and want to know more. If every person was walking around in the same outfit, fashion wouldn’t be a thing.’
In May, her father praised his daughter for coming out as transgender.
‘Kai was always who Kai is. But I suppose the most profound moment was her asking us to change her pronouns,’ Liev told Variety.
‘To be honest with you, it didn’t feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long.’

In May, her father praised her for strength and bravery as he called her ‘such a fighter’ (seen in 2025)

Schreiber also applauded the teen’s strength and bravery while expressing, ‘Kai is such a fighter. It’s important that she goes, “Hey, I am trans,” and, “Look at me,” and, “F*** you. F*** off.”‘
In regards to advice he has for parents who also have kids who have come out as trans, Liev simply stated, ‘I don’t know the answer for your kid.’
He further explained that he felt it was ‘an overstep’ for him to do so due to every circumstance being unique and different.
The actor, however, did briefly talk about raising teenagers in general and said, ‘I guess if I would say anything to someone who’s having trouble with their trans teen or their adolescent trans kid it’s “Teenagers are a f***ing headache. They’re hard.”
‘It doesn’t matter whether they’re trans or not because you’ll come out of this. But a trans teen is going to be a teen.’
The Perfect Couple star continued, ‘They’re such a pain in the a** so much of the time, and Kai is as feisty and outspoken as they come.’
In addition to Kai, Liev and Watts, who split in 2016, share a 17-year-old son, named Sasha.
