Model Kai Schreiber, 17, appeared noticeably taller than her famous mother, Naomi Watts, at a fashion event last week.
The pair posed together at the Gucci Store Show, held during Milan Fashion Week’s Womenswear Spring/Summer 2027 showcase at Allianz MiCo.
Watts, who is 5ft 5in, made a bold statement in a vibrant fuchsia suit worn without a shirt or bra, completing the look with black pointed heels.
Her 5ft 11in daughter looked every bit the rising supermodel in a sleeveless white mini dress, sky-high silver heels and dramatic eye makeup. She carried a bone-colored Gucci purse as she posed beside her mother.
The Oscar-winning actress has frequently supported Kai at major moments in her early modeling career.
The Milan appearance came only weeks after Schreiber received a standing ovation while accepting the Breakthrough Model of the Year award at The Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards.

Schreiber, whom Watts shares with her former partner Liev Schreiber, drew the loudest applause of the ceremony when she revealed that she was the first “trans girl” to receive the award.
In a video filmed by the Daily Mail at the Rainbow Room in New York City’s Rockefeller Center, the rising model said it felt surreal to be recognized so early in her fashion career.
Schreiber was supported at the ceremony by her 57-year-old mother. Reflecting on her career, she said she had been “so graciously welcomed into this beautiful world of fashion,” adding that she was “so beyond excited that I get to learn more about it every day and call it my job.”
“I’m also the first transgender girl to win this award,” Schreiber said, prompting cheers and applause from the audience.
She described the honor as “surreal,” saying it “wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for all my sisters who paved the way for me in this industry.” She added, “I carry that with me into every room.”
Watts’ daughter ended her brief speech by saying, “To say the least, I’ve found my fashion family, and I couldn’t be more happy.”
Earlier, Schreiber thanked her family for their “unconditional support and devotion to making me happy and making my dreams come true.” In an emotional tribute, she added, “I’m so lucky to be supported by you.”

Schreiber also thanked the Valentino team “for not only designing this outfit, but for being the ones that introduced me to this community and continued to believe in me.”
Watts shares Kai and her older son, 19-year-old Sasha Schreiber, with her former partner, actor Liev Schreiber, 58. The couple were together from 2005 until 2016.
Schreiber, who married Taylor Neisen in 2023, spoke in May to Variety about his initial reaction after Kai came out as transgender.
‘Kai was always who Kai is. But I suppose the most profound moment was her asking us to change her pronouns,’ he said. ‘To be honest with you, it didn’t feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long.’
He added, ‘Kai is such a fighter. It’s important that she goes, “Hey, I am trans,” and, “Look at me,” and, “F*** you. F*** off.”‘
But the Ray Donovan actor – who previously disputed claims that his daughter is a ‘nepo baby’ – steered clear of giving advice to the parents of other transgender children, saying he feared he would ‘overstep’ by treating all situations similarly.

‘We’re doing things very differently,’ Watts said while speaking to Net-a-Porter in 2019. ‘I’m pretty proud of us, corny as that may sound.

Following her split from Schreiber, The Ring star began a relationship with The Morning Show and Almost Famous actor Billy Crudup, with whom she tied the knot in 2023.
