Who are the astronauts on Artemis II?

Embarking on the historic Artemis II mission are astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen, a remarkable crew set to make their mark in space exploration.

Leading this extraordinary team is Reid Wiseman, a seasoned 50-year-old astronaut and retired Navy captain hailing from Baltimore, Maryland. Wiseman has been entrusted with the pivotal role of Artemis II commander, drawing on his extensive experience and leadership skills.

Joining him is Victor Glover, a trailblazing 49-year-old Navy captain and former combat pilot from Pomona, California. As one of NASA’s distinguished black astronauts, Glover brings a wealth of expertise and a dynamic perspective to the team.

Christina Koch, an accomplished 47-year-old electrical engineer from Jacksonville, North Carolina, is another key member of the mission. Koch holds the remarkable achievement of the longest single spaceflight by a woman, clocking in at 328 days. Her participation in the first all-female spacewalk in 2019 further underscores her pioneering spirit.

Completing this exceptional quartet is Jeremy Hansen, a dedicated astronaut from the Canadian Space Agency. At 50, Hansen is poised to embark on his inaugural spaceflight, adding an exciting dimension to the international collaboration embodied by Artemis II.

He will be serving as his country’s first emissary to the moon and is also a fighter pilot and physicist.
