The hospital at NAS Jax is reversing its announcement from earlier in the week that its emergency room service would limit hours to 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Naval Hospital Jacksonville announced Saturday it will continue 24/7 emergency room service, according to a post from the hospital.
Citing staffing issues, the hospital said on Monday it would limit ER service starting March 10, reducing its operating hours to 6 a.m.-6 p.m. It advised patients to go to the nearest hospital.
In Saturday’s post, the hospital stated the ER service would continue due to “the support of the Defense Health Agency and Navy Medicine.”
“Naval Hospital Jacksonville remains committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and ensuring access to the services they rely on,” the post said. “Since 1941, we have been dedicated to delivering trusted care, and that commitment remains as strong as ever.”
