According to a statement from the sheriff’s office on Sunday, Revuckas was discharged from the hospital following a medical clearance for custody and subsequently returned to the DuPage County Correctional Facility.
Revuckas faces charges in the death of 30-year-old Eliza Morales and her unborn child, as well as for setting fire to her apartment in Downers Grove on Monday night.
Court documents reveal that Morales endured 70 stab wounds. Additionally, Revuckas is also accused of attacking the family’s dog.
Prosecutors said Revuckas confessed to the attack, saying it stemmed from a vehicle the suspect intended to buy from Morales’ husband on Facebook Marketplace.
According to detectives, the suspect stated that he was upset about the condition of the pickup truck and allegedly took out his frustrations on Morales.
Prosecutors said Morales told him she was pregnant during the attack. She was five months pregnant, due to give birth to her second daughter in March.
Neither Morales’ husband nor her daughter were home at the time.
Morales’ loved ones held a funeral service for her on Thursday.
Relatives say Morales worked in the payroll department at Lurie Children’s Hospital, and hoped to have more children with her husband, who was her high school sweetheart.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the victim’s family.
Revuckas was ordered detained pending his trail on Thursday morning, and he is due back in court on Feb. 18.
