First came Cam Thomas’ season-ending injury. Now comes the fallout.
Thomas’ third hamstring injury means he is unlikely to play for the rest of the regular season, depriving the Nets of their top scorer. Apart from his scoring prowess and ability to draw fouls, his presence on the court also caused defensive mismatches and eased the game for his teammates.
But what does it mean now for those same Brooklyn teammates, with 14 games left on the schedule? How does Thomas’ absence change roles and rotations?
Regrettably, this is not the first time that Brooklyn will have to navigate through an extended period without Thomas, given his history of injuries this season. The Nets have experienced various lineup changes in this rebuilding phase, with players like Dennis Schröder and Dorian Finney-Smith in the team during his previous injuries, and Ben Simmons being present for another instance.
