Nets clear more roster space as next targets could soon come into focus

The Nets waived Tosan Evbuomwan on Friday, a move that could well be a precursor to another move.

The British forward and Princeton alum appeared in 28 games for the Nets last season, where he averaged 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and two assists over 23.8 minutes per game. The transaction, initially reported by Hoopshype, was later confirmed by The Post.

With Evbuomwan signed to a two-way contract, releasing him might not immediately indicate another transaction. However, Friday at 5 p.m. marked the deadline for NBA teams to waive and stretch a player with a fully or partially guaranteed salary for the coming season. (According to recent updates in the CBA, the player must clear waivers by Sunday).

This implies that with Nets GM Sean Marks having the most salary cap space in the league — and actively seeking opportunities to acquire draft picks through salary dumps — further clarity on Brooklyn’s potential targets is expected by this weekend.
