'Grocery buddy' system helping families missing out on SNAP

A Chicago-based nonprofit is addressing the disruption in SNAP payments by establishing “grocery buddies” to assist those in need.

Alicia Spradley, who leads Plate and Pathways, explained that the process is straightforward: individuals can either offer to donate food or gift cards, or they can reach out if they require assistance.
