The arrest report for the woman charged in the stabbing, 68-year-old Carol Carroll, says several knives were found at the scene and that Carroll is bipolar.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The arrest report for a woman accused of fatally stabbing a man at a Jacksonville senior living facility on Monday shares new details about the two’s relationship and what police found at the scene.

Carol Carroll, 68, faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of 73-year-old Robert Tucker.

Carroll’s arrest report states she and Tucker share a child together and that Tucker moved in with her at the senior living facility, Morris Manor Apartments, in February to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

At approximately 2:39 a.m. on Monday, Carroll’s arrest report says patrol officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to the senior living facility/apartments, and upon their arrival, they were told by members of Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department that Tucker was dead.

After officers followed a blood trail leading to an apartment and obtained a key for it, the report says Carroll was found inside and was then detained.

While officers walked Carroll down a hallway after detaining her, the report says she “spontaneously uttered” something, but it is unclear what she said due to her statement being redacted in the report.

Lawrence Shoemaker, a security guard for the apartments, told officers he found Tucker lying on the floor in the apartment’s main lobby bleeding around 2:18 a.m. while he was making his rounds, according to the report.

JSO Sgt. Steve Rudlaff previously told First Coast News that JSO received surveillance video showing Tucker walking out of an apartment on the second floor, appearing to have already been stabbed, and collapsing in the lobby of the apartment complex.

Inside of the apartment Tucker walked out of and Carroll was found in, JSO says an officer found a small rag with blood on it, blood on the living room floor and blood on the floor of a bedroom.

Additionally, JSO says the same officer found several knives on the floor between a bed and a wall, another knife on a box next to a bedroom door, and one more knife with blood on it inside a brown purse.

After JSO said it contacted Tucker sons — Andre and Corey Tucker — the report says both stated they did not know their dad or Carroll to be violent and were “not aware of any domestic violence issues between them.”

Furthermore, Andre and Corey Tucker told JSO that Carroll is “bipolar/schizophrenic,” according to the report.

During an interview with JSO, Carroll alleged she had been struck at some point, the report states. However, the report does not provide detail about Carroll’s account.

According to court records, Carroll has been assigned a public defender to represent her and is due in Duval County court for her arraignment on June 4. She remains in the Duval County Jail with no bond.
