JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville, advance to go and collect $200.
The River City’s very own edition of Monopoly was unveiled by local officials, business leaders and Mr. Monopoly himself, at EverBank Stadium Monday evening.
Monopoly: Jacksonville Edition features local cultural sites, landmarks, organizations, businesses and more in place of the board game’s “Boardwalk” and “Park Place” signature squares.

“Who needs a Boardwalk when you can have a Downtown Riverwalk?” said Chris Gargani, the vice president of sales and marketing for the Jaguars and Daily’s Place.
Some of the iconic places and things highlighted on the board include the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, the St. Johns River, Margarita Beach Hotel, James Weldon Johnson Park, Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q.

Local sports franchises like the Jacksonville Jaguars and Jacksonville Icemen also earned a spot in the special edition. San Marco, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach and Jacksonville Beach were also given their own squares.
“Jacksonville is such an iconic city from the wide pristine beaches and naval bases, to our sports teams and our music venues and local parks,” said Gargani. “The age-old classic board game will give those who play a glimpse of life in Duval County.”
He added the board game can act as a selling point for visitors and potential new residents.
The game also includes customized Community Chest and Chance playing cards that share historical facts and tidbits about Jacksonville, as well as special Monopoly money.

Top Trumps USA, Inc., which produced the special edition board game, promises every detail pays homage to the Jacksonville community.
“We’ve learned to not get stuck behind Main Street Bridge during peak hours, and to make sure we get a selfie with Rex the dinosaur,” joked Lindsey Wallace, a sales executive with Top Trumps USA, Inc.
Monopoly: Jacksonville Edition is available online and in stores including Barnes & Noble, CVS, Amazon, The BookMark and select local Jacksonville retailers.
