CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) The Clovis Police Department is asking the public for help in searching for a person who went missing four years ago while traveling from Clovis to Portales.
According to CPD, at around 9 p.m. on Oct. 7, 2021, James Sneed, 55, was traveling from Clovis to Portales when he went missing. Sneed’s truck was found abandoned the following day near State Road 267 and Roosevelt County Road X west of Portales.
Officials said on Oct. 13, 2021 that, due to his age and medical concerns, a Silver Alert was issued for his disappearance. CPD detailed that several searches were conducted by the Clovis Police Department, Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office – Portales, N.M., New Mexico State Police, and citizens from both Clovis and Portales.

CPD described Sneed as last seen wearing a white shirt or white pull-over sweatshirt with red and blue letters, with blue Nike gym shorts. Sneed is 6`4″ and weighs around 260 pounds, regularly wears glasses, and has gold front teeth.
