With the mayoral election looming just weeks away, the Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani hosted a rally in Washington Heights, Manhattan, drawing a notable crowd of supporters. Among the prominent figures in attendance was Attorney General Letitia James, who recently found herself in the spotlight due to federal charges levied against her.
This was James’ first public appearance since the charges were announced, and she indirectly addressed the accusations.
“I will not bow, I will not break, I will not bend, I will not capitulate,” said James. “I will not give in, I will not give up. You come for me, you gotta come for all of us.”
James officially endorsed Mamdani, saying, “I see the courage that he embodies, and that’s why I support him.”
The rally drew thousands of supporters and a handful of politicians who used the rally to also back Mamdani’s run for mayor.
Curtis Sliwa and Andrew Cuomo did not hold any events on Monday night.
