A man purportedly used the renowned San Francisco 49ers brand to deceive over two dozen women, further entangling them in a web of lies by fictitiously claiming connections with NFL stars Jordan Love and Tyreek Hill, according to allegations.
The California Post revealed details from a criminal complaint filed against Daejon Love. The document outlines how Love, masquerading as a wide receiver for the 49ers, allegedly fabricated a familial link to Packers quarterback Jordan Love. This ruse reportedly enabled him to cajole at least one victim into handing over her money.
Daejon’s fraudulent scheme began when he met a woman on Tinder in March 2025. He regaled her with NFL-centric fabrications, impressing her enough that they decided to meet in person, the complaint highlights.
Subsequent to their date, Daejon shifted focus to her financial state, inquiring whether she had an interest in making investments. This conversation led to him persuading her to part with $17,200, officials noted in the complaint.
The complaint further reveals that the woman never received any investment documents. Once she inquired about the validity of these investments, Daejon reportedly severed all communication with her.

Daejon repeated similar tactics with multiple others, and according to the complaint, he used a video where he touted friendships with Hill and former NFL wideouts Antonio Brown and John Brown to gain his victims’ trust.
“Love claims that since he exercised with these players during the offseason,” officials wrote in the court filing, “he received invitations to try out with NFL teams.” He then claimed, “San Francisco was the best team out of all of those teams and they offered me the most money,” the complaint stated.
In total, Daejon — with the help of his accomplice, 18-year-old Taylor Jamie Chan, who allegedly posed as Daejon’s financial advisor — scammed $1.3 million from around 26 women, federal prosecutors said this week.
“Beginning in February 2022, Love and Chan created fictitious investments to defraud numerous women in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California,” the US Attorney’s Office, District of Oregon said in a statement Tuesday. “Love met most of the women on the Internet through dating apps. Chan falsely posed as Love’s financial adviser to further gain their victims’ trust and demonstrate the validity of the investments.
“Love and Chan solicited money from the women through lies and misrepresentations. The scheme lasted until the day of Love and Chan’s arrests on August 24, 2026.”
Both Daejon and Chan are in federal custody facing charges of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
