Nicole Kidman is sharing her experiences of ‘taking risks’ and reflecting on her past missteps in a recent conversation with Vogue, published on Wednesday amidst her separation from long-time partner Keith Urban.
‘Taking a risk is what I’ve always done,’ she shared in the cover piece. ‘You get back up and you try again and you learn.’
The 58-year-old actress has found herself in the public eye due to the announcement of her split from the musician, yet she claims that the attention she receives on the internet does not unsettle her.
‘Literally walk away from it because it will fell you. It will destroy you,’ Kidman candidly shared.
Her new interview marked the 41st cover she’s been on in the international magazine – including their Australian and UK editions.
While Kidman did not specifically discuss the divorce in the interview, she conveyed a mix of humor, regret, and uncertainty when questioned about her feelings in her 50s.
‘How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?’ she quizzed, before stressing the importance of ‘ride-or-die friendships.’
She later reflected: ‘So much to say and so little time to say it. About death and life and joy and grief and loss and sex and why we’re here and what is truth and is truth even necessary.’
