Nicole Kidman's getting advice from Naomi Watts on Keith Urban divorce

Nicole Kidman is turning to a friendly face as she navigates her split from Keith Urban.

The “Babygirl” star, who initiated divorce proceedings from the country singer in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday, has allegedly been receiving insightful advice from her long-time friend Naomi Watts amidst the surprising breakup.

“Nic has been reaching out to Naomi often to discuss how she should manage the situation,” a source revealed to the Daily Mail. “There’s been a wealth of advice being shared, and Nic is attentive because Naomi has had similar experiences herself.”

Watts, 57, split from Heath Ledger in 2004 following a widely publicized two-year relationship.

The “Mulholland Drive” actress was in a relationship with Liev Schreiber for 11 years, starting in 2005. The former couple had two children together, Sasha, 18, and Kai, 16, before they publicly announced their separation in 2016.

“She knows how challenging heartbreak in the spotlight can be,” the source continued. “Naomi’s clever advice has been to be as honest as can be with the public and just get it out there and over with so fans can process and move on.”

However, this wouldn’t be the first time the “King Kong” actress helped her best friend navigate a tough divorce, as Watts had previously assisted Kidman after her high-profile split from Tom Cruise.

The “Big Little Lies” star and “Mission: Impossible” daredevil married in 1990. They adopted two kids, Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30, before calling it quits in 2001.

As for Watts, she has since moved on and tied the knot with actor Billy Crudup in 2023. The couple shares a loving relationship, which is something Kidman reportedly hopes to find following her divorce from Urban.

“One day Nic would like that; an adoring relationship with so much love like Naomi and Billy have,” the insider told Daily Mail.

Kidman and Watts became close friends after meeting at an audition in Sydney in the 1980s.

They went on to work together in the 1991 flick “Flirting,” and Watts once compared Kidman to “the sister I’d never had” while honoring her at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala in Hollywood last April.

“Nic, I’m so honored to share this moment with you tonight for this incredible award,” Watts said during her speech. “Your generosity, your loyalty, your sisterhood and your sense of adventure make you a truly remarkable woman who I’m proud to call my friend.”

“So, wherever the road takes us, I want to be along for the journey and, I promise, the next ride’s on me,” she concluded at the time.

Kidman pulled the trigger and filed for divorce from Urban on Tuesday, one day after it was reported the pair had been separated and living separately “since the beginning of summer.”

Court documents obtained by The Post revealed that the Oscar winner cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, and she listed the pair’s date of separation as “date of filing.”

The former couple share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, and Kidman is seeking to be the “primary residential parent” for the pair, per the filing.

Meanwhile, sources close to the exes suggested Urban is already seeing another woman, although it’s unclear if he moved on before or after separating from Kidman.

It was later revealed that Urban changed a song lyric originally about Kidman to reference his 25-year-old guitar player, Maggie Baugh, during a recent concert.

“Nicole’s hurt and feels betrayed,” an insider told People. “It’s devastating to her. She’s shocked.”

Kidman and Urban tied the knot on June 25, 2006, one year after meeting at the G’Day USA Gala in January 2005.

The exes were last seen in public together on June 20 at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in Nashville, Tennessee, just five days before celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary.
