Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is urging her followers to prioritize their health and undergo cervical cancer screenings after a concerning medical discovery. The reality TV star, famous for her role on “Jersey Shore,” revealed that doctors identified “cancerous cells” on her cervix, prompting further medical evaluations.
In a TikTok video shared on January 20, Polizzi, who is 38 years old, opened up about her health journey. She shared that for the past few years, her routine Pap smear tests have returned abnormal results, indicating the presence of precancerous cells. This revelation led her to undergo additional, more detailed examinations.
Polizzi described undergoing several more intensive procedures, including a biopsy and a colposcopy, which she admitted were “uncomfortable.” After these tests, her doctor informed her that cancerous cells were indeed present at the top of her cervix.
Reflecting on the moment she received the call from her doctor, Polizzi recounted, “The doctor calls me and he’s like, ‘Not looking great.'” Her candid account in the nearly 10-minute video serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of regular health screenings.
“Doctor calls me and he’s like, ‘Not looking great,’” she recalled in the nearly 10-minute long video.
The mother of three urged her followers to get their screenings and not to skip out on tests.
“I’m terrified. It’s scary,” she said. “We have to get it done because cervical cancer is nothing to joke about and I obviously don’t want to get this.”
“Being a woman is not easy and this is definitely a scary thing,” she said. “I know I’m gonna be fine, but it’s just scary to have to do all this stuff.”
Polizzi started to tear up when explaining the possibilities of treatment, which include having a hysterectomy, or a surgery to remove the uterus, depending on the next test results.
“I’m done having kids but, as a woman, the thought of getting a hysterectomy is just sad and it’s scary,” she said. “Getting the hysterectomy and then not being able to have kids, I think that’s what’s killing me.”
She said if it comes to it, she would get the surgery done to keep her “healthy and safe to be here for my kids that I have now.”
She encouraged women going through similar health scares to share their stories in the comments to find a community that can support each other.
People took to the comments to offer their support and share their stories.
“Nicole, wish I could hug you through the phone 🫶🏼 thank you for sharing and I’m sending you much love and prayers 🙏🏼 ♥️,” TV personality Lauren Sorrentino, from “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” and “The Sorrentinos,” commented.
A fan shared her own story about getting a hysterectomy, calling it “the best thing I ever did.”
“I got energy back I didn’t know I had, lost weight, and feel like a new woman,” she wrote in a comment Polizzi liked. “Put it in God’s hands. He knows what’s best!”
