Knicks' Miles McBride 'day-to-day' with hamstring issue

OKLAHOMA CITY — Miles McBride remains “day-to-day” after missing his second straight game because of a hamstring strain, he told The Post.

“Just seeing how it feels. It’s tough with hamstrings,” McBride said. “Those type of injuries, you don’t want to rush it. But I’m progressing.”

The absence of McBride was strongly felt during the 117-110 defeat against the Thunder on Friday night. The Knicks struggled to score, only mustering five points as the starting players were heavily relied upon.

It was the first time since 2013 that all five Knicks starters each played at least 40.

Perhaps not coincidentally, the Knicks (23-11) looked fatigued and were outhustled by the deeper Thunder in the fourth quarter.

They also face the second game of a back-to-back on Saturday in Chicago.

The Knicks could certainly use McBride, their most reliable reserve and only real minutes eater off the bench.

“Right now it’s just been taking it slow, just doing a little bit more of manual work and just really trying to give it a little bit more time,” he said.

McBride sustained the injury while warming up for Wednesday’s contest against the Jazz.

He was slated to start that match up because Jalen Brunson was scratched in the morning because of calf soreness.

“I just going and I just felt [my hamstring] grab,” McBride said. “And I went to the back, tried to figure out what happened. It just hurt.

“It’s super, super frustrating,” he added. “Nobody ever wants to be hurt and especially on a night you get a chance to start. Super frustrating. But it’s a part of it. Just got to bounce back.”

There was a scary moment in the third quarter, when OG Anunoby dunked to create an 11-point lead but lost grip on the rim and took a hard spill on his arm.

After getting up, Anunoby darted to the bench with his right arm limp.

“My arm was ringing, like my funny bone,” he told The Post.

It looked worse than the encouraging reality.

Anunoby returned after a timeout to shoot the free throws and finished with 20 points in 43 minutes.

“Time passed and I felt better,” he said.

Anunoby missed 32 games last season after undergoing surgery on his right elbow.

He said he fell Friday night on his hip and arm, not the elbow.
