An NYPD officer was struck by a fleeing driver in the Bronx on Saturday night while responding to a report of a disorderly gathering, authorities said.
Police were dispatched around 7:20 p.m. after a 311 caller reported a large crowd and loud music near Garrison Avenue and Whittier Street in the South Bronx.
When officers arrived, a man got behind the wheel of a white Honda SUV and attempted to leave. As he sped away, the vehicle hit an officer in the left leg, according to police.

The officer was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition and is expected to recover, authorities said.
