A significant explosion rocked a senior living apartment complex in Austintown, Ohio, on Saturday, resulting in multiple injuries.

The blast, which occurred shortly before 1 p.m. local time, severely damaged a large section of the Phoenix House apartment building, as reported by FOX 8.

According to Assistant Chief Tom O’Hara of the Austintown Fire Department, several individuals sustained injuries, although there were no confirmed fatalities at the time of reporting.

Local resident Cindy Duke described the explosion to FOX 8, saying it “felt like a bomb.”

The cause of the explosion has not yet been released.

The Austintown Township Police Department and Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to inquiries from Fox News Digital.
