Kip Lewis delivered a standout performance with seven tackles and two sacks, propelling No. 11 Oklahoma to a shocking 23-21 victory over fourth-ranked Alabama on Saturday, sending ripples throughout the Southeastern Conference.

The Sooners, now boasting a 7-2 record with a 4-2 standing in the SEC, capitalized on three turnovers, converting them into 17 crucial points. A decisive defensive play late in the game halted Alabama’s impressive winning streaks of eight consecutive games and 17 home victories.

Alabama (8-2, 6-1 SEC) found themselves with a chance to snatch a late victory, but Ty Simpson’s crucial fourth-down pass to Ryan Williams fell short, incomplete.

Oklahoma seized the opportunity to run down the clock, igniting a jubilant celebration among their traveling supporters. Despite entering the game as six-point underdogs according to BetMGM Sportsbook, the Sooners managed a modest 212 yards of offense while securing an interception and recovering two fumbles.

Despite the setback, Alabama still holds the reins to its fate in the SEC championship race and can clinch a spot by defeating arch-rival Auburn in the Iron Bowl in two weeks.
