23-year-old Khari Coleman is charged with two felony counts of exposure of sexual organs, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A key member of the Ole Miss football team who played in the Jan. 2 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville was arrested Thursday on indecent exposure charges from that same day at the team’s hotel.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said 23-year-old Khari Coleman of Oxford, Miss., is charged with two felony counts of exposure of sexual organs.

Deputies had responded to the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra on Jan. 2 about a man exposing himself to female housekeeping employees, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“The investigation revealed two separate incidents occurred on the same date involving Coleman,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives also learned that Coleman was arrested in 2023 for an indecent exposure incident in Mississippi involving five victims.

“After conducting multiple interviews, gathering additional evidence and staffing the case with prosecutors, a nationwide pickup arrest warrant was obtained,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives contacted Coleman in Mississippi, where he was taken into custody with assistance from the Oxford Mississippi Police Department. He was wearing an Ole Miss shirt when arrested.

The Times-Union has requested his arrest report.

The 6-1, 220-pound linebacker played in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in the evening of Jan. 2, where he was the second-leading tackler for Ole Miss with five in the Rebels’ 52-20 victory over Duke. His statistics show he played 37 games over three seasons at Ole Miss, recording 45 tackles and a forced fumble in his senior year.

Coleman, who’s from New Orleans, originally signed with Texas Christian University, earning Freshman All-American honors in 2020, before transferring to Ole Miss. He was named as an All-SEC honorable mention selection by the College Football Network in 2023 and earned a spot on the preseason watch list for the Butkus Award in the same year, according to the university athletic department.

Times-Union writer Clayton Freeman contributed to this report.
