We can discuss the on-ice legacy of Chris Kreider, who spent 13 seasons with the franchise in New York and made his mark by climbing up the career lists without ever being the top player on the team in any single year.
Chris Kreider, wearing jersey number 20, carved out a unique role during his time with the team. When I think about it, I can only come up with one comparable individual in New York sports history – another number 20 who, much like Kreider, was a beloved player, never the star of the team in a given season, and stands at eighth place in all-time franchise games played.
That would be Jorge Posada of the Yankees.
While Kreider may not have the same number of championship rings as the other player, it’s essential to recognize that only a select few Rangers have hoisted the Stanley Cup in the team’s 85-year history.
