Jason Leonard Blount, 52, faces three counts of felony first-degree sexual battery in three rape cases from 2000 to 2002.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police say three major cases are finally solved after an Orlando man was arrested for a series of unsolved rapes in Jacksonville more than 20 years ago.
According to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrest reports, Jason Leonard Blount, 52, faces three counts of felony first-degree sexual battery in two rape cases in 2000 and one in 2002.
The reports say the assaults took place in March 2000, April 2000 and September 2002.

The first victim said they were assaulted while on a jog around a Southside apartment complex, the report states.
The second victim was in the parking lot of an apartment complex, loading their car for a trip, when the suspect approached them, according to the report.
The third victim said the suspect followed them into their apartment and asked to use the victim’s phone before the assault, the report states.
All victims underwent a sexual assault kit, and DNA from all three cases matched Blount in a national database, the Florida Times-Union reported.
Blount was arrested July 1 and is currently being held on no bond at the Duval County Jail.
He is slated to be arraigned July 23 in Duval County Court.
